Trying to improve your web analytics skills? Just start following all or at least a couple of the following web analytics blogs and you’ll become analytics hero in no time. I’ve gathered in this article all the blogs that helped me evolve to a digital analytics expert.

  • Analytics talk (by Justin Cutroni)

    Analytics Talk is the personal web analytics blog of Justin Cutroni. He is part of the Google analytics team and he always posts up-to-date articles with relevant information on this topic. This is a good place to get a handle on what the latest Google updates mean for you.

  • Analytics demystified

    Analytics demystified (Adam Greco’s company) is one of the leaders in web analytics blogs. You’ll find a lot of very useful articles on Adobe Analytics in their blog.

  • Simo ahava

    Did you just start working with Google analytics or Google tag manager and need technical articles to help you? The Simo Ahava’s blog is definitely the first website you need to visit!

  • Web analytics for Developers (by Jan Exner)

    If you like Simo’s blog but you are working with Adobe’s tracking tools and wish you could find a similar blog for Adobe Analytics and Adobe Dynamic Tag Manager (DTM)? Then Jan Exner’s blog is the one you need.

  • Analytics Powerhour

    Are you tired of reading but still want to improve your web analytic’s knowledge? There’s a great podcast from Tim Wilson, Michael Helbling and Moe Kiss. Each episode focuses on a different analytics-related topic. Listen to Michael, Moe, and Tim share their thoughts and experiences with every podcast’s special guest and hopefully take away something to try at work the next day.

    This is the official blog of Google Analytics.  As you would expect, it keeps readers up to date with feature improvements, looks at issues around conversion and social media and features case-studies of Analytics users. Our top pick outlines some strategies for optimizing Google Analytics. It’s titled 5 Ways To Ensure Google Analytics Is Running Perfectly.

  • Occam’s Razor (by Avinash Kaushik)

    Occam’s Razor by Avinash Kaushik has dozens of detailed posts on every aspect of web analytics and digital marketing. The blog covers qualitative analysis, competitive intelligence analysis, analytics tips, web metrics and more. If you’re interested in analytics, it’s a must-read. Check out the custom reports Avinash provides to get more from your data.

  • Optimize Smart

    A blog for someone who is already familiar with the basic concepts of Google analytics. Full of interesting articles on Google analytics and SEO. Some of the articles might be a bit long, but I promise that you’ll not regret any time spent.

  • Web analytics land

    This blog is a bit outdated (latest post in 2013) but you can still find useful information on Adobe analytics (previously known as Omniture) technical implementations and plugins.

  • eConsultancy blog

  • Annielytics (by Annie Cushing)

    Annie posts practical and smart google analytics resources for small businesses. Her blog focuses on actionable tips related to google analytics, excel and sexy data visualizations.

  • OWOX BI blog

    OWOX BI is a company specializing in implementing Google Analytics 360 for e-commerce businesses and developing online services based on Google BigQuery. Their blog contains a lot of interesting articles for advanced Google analytics users. You can also find a lot of interesting webinars from their team.

  • E-nor

    A web analytics company with several big players as clients (like eBay and Oakley). You’ll find a lot of interesting articles in their blog.

  • Luna Metrics

    An amazing web analytics blog, that’s definitely worth a visit. I keep this in my reading list, as I’ve always been able to find useful articles on Google analytics and complete implementation tips.

  • Online metrics (by Paul Koks)

    A relatively new blog, it appeared in the past couple of years but Paul Koks managed to get a place in the list of my favorite blogs. You’ll find a lot of Google analytics articles on everything you are looking for. (You’ll need a bit patient with all the popups appearing, promoting Paul’s business)
